For Owners and Members, flexibility is king. When you are affiliated with Abound by Marriott Vacations™, you have the ability to use your vacation ownership interest to explore 90+ resorts and city destinations as well as access to cruises, hotels, tours, and more. You can also strategically use your Club Points, subject to availability. Abound by Marriott Vacations exchange program cannot guarantee specific resort choices, dates of travel, or types or sizes of accommodations. The earlier an exchange is requested, the better the possibility that a specific request may be confirmed.

With some Club Points election deadlines on the horizon, let’s go through a few vacation scenarios and how you can strategically use your Club Points.

“I Can’t Use My Club Points This Year.”

As much as you want to take your annual vacations, sometimes life gets in the way. This may mean you can only take half your usual vacation days, stay somewhere closer, or it may even mean you can’t take the vacation at all.

If this happens to you and you can’t go on your scheduled getaway, you may be able to bank Club Points into your next Use Year. It doesn’t matter if you bank every point you have, or just the leftover points from shortened stays. Banking them by the deadline ensures that you won’t lose your points unexpectedly.

“This Is The Year I Finally Take That Bucket List Trip and Go All Out.”

Everyone has a dream vacation. And sometimes it’s time to stop talking and start planning. Whether you’re dreaming of a long Hawai‘i escape at Marriott Vacation Club®, Waikīkī , upgrading to a European river cruise, or taking an African safari, bigger or longer vacations may mean you’ll need more Club Points. When this is the case, you can borrow some or all of your Club Points from the next Use Year.

You can even use past, present, and future Club Points to plan the ultimate vacation bucket list. Combine previously banked Club Points with current Use Year Club Points and borrow Club Points from a future Use Year to have an all-out vacation spectacular.

“I Want a Friend To Have the Vacation of THEIR Dreams.”

Vacations are the ideal  way to celebrate a huge milestone. They can also be the perfect way to create some space to relax. If you know a fellow Club Points or Enrolled Owner or Member who needs a bit of a boost, you may be able to transfer your Club Points to them.

The Club Points you transfer can’t be ones you’ve already banked and/or borrowed, and the Owner you’re sending them to cannot bank or borrow them either. But if some extra Club Points is all a fellow Owner needs to make their vacation the most memorable it can be, a Club Points transfer is the perfect way to show you care. You may transfer up to 20,000 Club Points per Use Year and the transferred Club Points retain the current Use Year. So, make sure your fellow Owner or Member uses them right away because they cannot be transferred again or traded for Marriott Bonvoy^® points.
